Commercial Construction Estimator•Remote |
Diverse Projects Location:
Remote•Preference for Candidates Located in the Central U.S.
Compensation:
$85,000•115,000 per year, depending on experience About the Opportunity A growing commercial development organization is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join its team. This is a remote opportunity for an estimator who enjoys working across a diverse portfolio of commercial construction projects . The ideal candidate will have strong experience evaluating construction documents, developing accurate budgets, performing quantity takeoffs, soliciting and leveling subcontractor bids, and identifying scope gaps and potential project risks. Candidates located in the Central United States are preferred. Responsibilities Review construction drawings, specifications, and other project documents to develop accurate estimates and budgets. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Prepare conceptual, schematic, and detailed project estimates. Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor proposals. Identify scope gaps, inconsistencies, exclusions, and potential project risks. Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and industry partners. Assist with value engineering and cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, architects, engineers, consultants, and project teams throughout the preconstruction process. Support project handoff from preconstruction through operations. Maintain accurate estimating data, historical costs, and project documentation. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating, preconstruction, or a closely related role. Experience estimating diverse commercial construction projects . Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, materials, and subcontractor scopes. Experience with quantity takeoffs, conceptual budgeting, bid analysis, and subcontractor bid leveling. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and technical documents. Proficiency with estimating and construction technology such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, OST, Procore, BuildingConnected, or similar platforms. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities. Experience working for a commercial developer, general contractor, or construction management firm is preferred. Preferred Background The ideal candidate will bring experience working on multiple @types of commercial projects rather than being limited to one highly specialized construction niche. Experience with ground-up construction, mixed-use, retail, office, hospitality, healthcare, multifamily, industrial, or other commercial project @types is highly valued.
