Responsibilities Prepare comprehensive construction estimates for residential and commercial projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and site conditions. Utilize estimating software to develop accurate cost proposals and detailed bid packages. Collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, suppliers, and clients to gather pricing information and negotiate terms that align with project budgets. Conduct site visits to assess construction site conditions, verify measurements, and gather data essential for precise estimating. Manage cost control throughout the project lifecycle by monitoring expenses, reviewing contracts, and adjusting estimates as needed. Develop pricing strategies that reflect current market trends while maintaining profitability. Assist in contract review and negotiation to ensure scope clarity, risk mitigation, and compliance with project requirements. Support project management teams by providing detailed estimates that facilitate scheduling, resource allocation, and overall project planning. Experience Proven experience in construction estimating within residential and commercial sectors. Proficiency with Bluebeam for digital plan review and markup. Strong knowledge of HeavyBid or similar estimating software tools. Familiarity with construction management practices, contracts, and project lifecycle processes. Hands-on construction site experience that enhances understanding of on-the-ground realities affecting estimates. Excellent negotiation skills coupled with a keen eye for detail in pricing strategies. Background in cost control, project management, and contract administration is highly desirable.
