Restoration, LLC Portland, OR Job Details Full-time $75,000 - $90,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Paid time off Parental leave Professional development assistance Qualifications Residential construction experience Fire restoration Driver's License Attention to detail Xactimate Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Restoration Estimator to prepare accurate, timely estimates for residential and commercial mitigation, fire, water, and reconstruction projects. This role works closely with project managers, field teams, homeowners, insurance carriers, and adjusters to develop complete scopes, support approvals, and help move projects efficiently from inspection through production. Bonus per contract, 1% of estimate if estimate is accepted and project is approved. Key Responsibilities
- Inspect restoration and reconstruction projects and develop accurate scopes of work.
- Prepare detailed estimates using Xactimate and other estimating tools as required.
- Create estimates for water, fire, smoke, mold-related, emergency mitigation, and reconstruction work.
- Review photos, measurements, field documentation, moisture records, sketches, and project notes for estimate accuracy.
- Communicate with insurance adjusters, carriers, property owners, project managers, and internal teams regarding scope, pricing, supplements, and approvals.
- Prepare and submit estimate revisions, supplements, change orders, and supporting documentation when additional work is identified.
- Ensure estimates reflect current labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and code-related requirements.
- Identify missing scope items, potential cost exposure, and documentation needed before work begins or progresses.
- Coordinate with production and project management teams to ensure the approved scope aligns with the work being performed.
- Maintain organized estimate files and timely follow-up on pending approvals and outstanding documentation.
- Assist with job costing, margin awareness, and estimate-to-actual review when requested. 1% of entire contract per estimate if estimate is accepted and project is approved. Qualifications
- Restoration, construction, insurance estimating, or related industry experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Xactimate strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of water mitigation, fire/smoke restoration, and residential reconstruction practices.
- Ability to read plans, measurements, scopes, and construction documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate estimates under time-sensitive conditions.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with homeowners, adjusters, subcontractors, and internal team members.
- Strong organizational, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to local job sites as needed. Preferred Experience
- Experience working directly with insurance carriers and adjusters.
- Experience writing supplements and negotiating scope differences.
- IICRC certification or restoration-industry training.
- Knowledge of local construction practices, permitting, and building-code requirements.
- Experience with project management, CRM, photo documentation, or restoration management software.
