Job Description Principal Estimator Location:
Aiken, SC Description:
On-site in Aiken, SC Our client seeks a Principal Estimator to support project controls for nuclear facility and construction projects.
The role involves:
Developing and maintaining detailed cost estimates for complex construction projects Coordinating with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate budgeting Analyzing project scope and requirements to determine resource needs Preparing cost reports and variance analysis Leading cost control activities throughout project lifecycle Mentoring junior estimators and contributing to process improvements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred) Minimum 8 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in nuclear or heavy civil projects Proven track record with large-scale, complex projects Strong understanding of project controls methodologies and tools Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Effective communication and leadership abilities
Preferred Skills:
Experience with nuclear power plant construction Knowledge of FIDIC or other international construction contracts Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., CostX, RSMeans) Understanding of safety and quality requirements in nuclear construction
