Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator to join our construction team, bringing expertise in commercial construction project estimation. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs, preparing detailed bids, and collaborating closely with clients, project managers, and suppliers to ensure competitive and precise pricing. Your proactive approach will help drive successful project outcomes, optimize budgets, and contribute to the growth of our construction operations. Duties Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine material and labor requirements. Utilize estimating software such as Plan Hub, Building connect, HeavyBid and Bluebeam to develop comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. Analyze project scope, site conditions, and client requirements to prepare accurate bid proposals. Manage and update spreadsheets to track costs, quantities, and project budgets efficiently. Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors through negotiation to secure competitive pricing on materials and services. Conduct detailed material cost estimating from blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accuracy in budgeting. Review construction management software data to monitor project progress, cost control, and schedule adherence. Communicate effectively with clients regarding project scope, pricing strategies, and potential cost savings opportunities. Interpret technical drawings and construction documents to identify potential risks or discrepancies early in the estimation process. Support project management teams by providing detailed estimates that align with contract requirements and project timelines. Experience Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry. Strong proficiency with estimating software such as HeavyBid, Xactimate, and Bluebeam. Extensive knowledge of construction management software tools used for budgeting, scheduling, and document control. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and contracts accurately. Solid understanding of construction industry standards including cost management, material requirements estimation, and pricing strategies. Experience in negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve favorable terms while maintaining quality standards. Construction site experience is highly desirable to better understand on-the-ground realities impacting estimates. Familiarity with managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills for client interaction, team collaboration, and presenting detailed estimates clearly. Pay:
$75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
