Rackley Roofing is seeking a Commercial Roofing Estimator to support our growing commercial, industrial, and institutional roofing projects. In this role, you will review plans and specifications, perform roof takeoffs, develop accurate labor and material estimates, and prepare detailed proposals for clients. You'll collaborate closely with project managers, sales, and field teams to clarify scope, assess site conditions, and support bid strategy. The ideal candidate brings strong construction math skills, roofing or construction estimating experience, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, integrity, and relationship-driven service. Responsibilities Review architectural drawings, specifications, and scope documents for commercial roofing projects Perform detailed roof measurements, takeoffs, and quantity calculations Prepare accurate labor, material, and equipment cost estimates and competitive bids Obtain and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes Collaborate with project managers, sales, and field teams to define project scope and approach Conduct site visits to assess existing roof conditions and verify quantities Develop and present professional proposals to customers and internal stakeholders Maintain estimating data, pricing, and historical project cost information Support handoff from estimating to operations after award Promote and adhere to company safety, quality, and integrity standards Required Skills Construction estimating Commercial roofing systems knowledge Blueprint and specification reading Quantity takeoffs Cost analysis and job costing Estimating and takeoff software (e.g., Bluebeam, Plan Swift) Excel and general MS Office proficiency Vendor and subcontractor quoting Proposal writing Site assessment and field measurement Time management Attention to detail Math and geometry for construction Communication and collaboration Safety awareness
