Job Description Upchurch is seeking an Estimator to develop accurate, timely cost estimates and support winning proposals across professional, scientific, and technical projects. In this role, you will review drawings, specifications, and scopes of work; perform quantity takeoffs; solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing; and prepare detailed cost breakdowns and bid documents. You will collaborate closely with consultants, project managers, and technical teams to refine scopes, assess risks, and provide value-engineering options. Responsibilities Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for proposals and active projects. Analyze drawings, specifications, and scope documents to identify cost drivers and risk areas. Solicit, evaluate, and compare vendor and subcontractor quotes to support competitive pricing. Develop bid packages, pricing summaries, and assumptions for internal and client review. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and consultants to refine scopes and budgets. Assist with value engineering, alternatives analysis, and cost-saving recommendations. Maintain estimating databases, unit costs, and historical benchmarks for continuous improvement. Support client presentations, clarifications, and negotiations related to project pricing. Track estimate versus actual performance to improve future forecasting accuracy.
