Data Centers | Mechanical Construction | Industrial Services Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Flushing Estimator to develop accurate and competitive estimates for mechanical flushing, temporary pumping, water treatment, hydrostatic testing, and commissioning-related projects. This position requires a strong understanding of commercial and industrial mechanical piping systems , including chilled water, condenser water, heating hot water, and process piping. The Estimator will review construction documents, perform takeoffs, determine labor and equipment requirements, develop project budgets, and prepare proposals for large-scale data center and industrial projects. The ideal candidate has a mechanical construction background and understands how piping systems are installed, tested, flushed, cleaned, and commissioned in the field. Key Responsibilities
  • Review mechanical drawings, specifications, scopes of work, bid packages, and contract documents.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for piping systems requiring flushing, cleaning, testing, or commissioning support.
  • Develop estimates for labor, supervision, equipment, temporary pumps, filtration, water, chemicals, trucking, freight, and wastewater disposal .
  • Analyze piping layouts, pipe sizes, system volumes, equipment requirements, and flushing procedures.
  • Estimate projects involving: ○ Chilled water systems ○ Condenser water systems ○ Heating hot water systems ○ Process piping ○ Mechanical flushing and chemical cleaning ○ Temporary pumping and filtration ○ Reverse osmosis water systems ○ Hydrostatic testing ○ Boiler flushing ○ Data center commissioning support
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor, equipment rental, transportation, and subcontractor pricing.
  • Develop detailed project budgets, cost breakdowns, assumptions, exclusions, and contingencies.
  • Identify project risks related to schedule, manpower, equipment availability, logistics, water supply, and disposal requirements.
  • Coordinate with field operations to validate labor productivity, equipment selections, and project execution strategies.
  • Prepare professional proposals and bid packages for customers.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs as required.
  • Support change-order pricing and additional work requests.
  • Participate in project turnover meetings following contract award.
  • Maintain historical estimating data and track bid results to improve future estimating accuracy. Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of estimating experience in commercial or industrial mechanical construction, piping, or related specialty services.
  • Strong working knowledge of hydronic and mechanical piping systems .
  • Experience estimating chilled water, condenser water, heating hot water, or process piping systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, piping plans, specifications, schedules, and construction documents .
  • Strong understanding of construction labor, equipment, materials, logistics, and production rates.
  • Ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs and develop detailed project cost estimates.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required. Preferred Experience Candidates with experience in any of the following are strongly preferred:
  • Mechanical flushing and chemical cleaning
  • Data center construction
  • Mechanical commissioning
  • Commercial or industrial piping installation
  • Temporary pumping and filtration systems
  • Hydrostatic testing
  • Reverse osmosis and water treatment systems
  • Boiler and hydronic system flushing
  • Large-scale mechanical construction
  • Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Accubid, Trimble, OST, or similar estimating software
  • Procore or Autodesk Build
  • Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will combine mechanical construction knowledge with strong estimating ability .
We are looking for someone who can review a mechanical piping package, understand how the system will be constructed and commissioned, determine the resources required to complete the work, and translate that information into an accurate and profitable estimate. Candidates with previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator, Piping Estimator, Mechanical Project Manager, Mechanical Superintendent, or Mechanical/Piping Professional who have transitioned into estimating may be a strong fit. Pay:
$100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
