Job Overview Jomar Electrical Contractors is growing, and we're looking for a motivated Junior Electrical Estimator to join our team. This is a great opportunity for an estimator with 2+ years of electrical estimating experience who is looking to continue developing their skills and grow their career in commercial electrical construction. The Junior Electrical Estimator will work closely with experienced estimators and project managers to review plans and specifications, perform takeoffs, develop material and labor pricing, and assist with preparing estimates and bid proposals from start to finish. Responsibilities Assist with preparing accurate and competitive electrical estimates for commercial construction projects. Review electrical blueprints, specifications, proposals, and scope of work. Perform electrical material takeoffs and assist with labor and material cost calculations. Build estimates and quotes under the supervision of an experienced estimator. Send RFQs to vendors and subcontractors and assist with obtaining and organizing pricing. Work with experienced estimators to develop estimates and complete bid proposals from start to finish. Assist with reviewing project plans to identify scope gaps, discrepancies, and potential risks. Assist with preparing and maintaining bid documentation and estimating files. Use estimating and takeoff software to assist with project estimates. Communicate with vendors, project managers, field personnel, and other team members as needed. Continue developing knowledge of commercial electrical construction, estimating practices, and project costs. Requirements 2+ years of electrical estimating experience , preferably in commercial electrical construction. Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Experience performing electrical material takeoffs and assisting with labor and material pricing. Some experience with electrical estimating or takeoff software such as ConEst, Bluebeam, Accubid, or similar programs . Knowledge of commercial electrical construction practices. Working knowledge of the NEC is preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills. Ability to work closely with an experienced estimator and learn Jomar's estimating processes. Must be willing to work 100% in person at our Austin office. This position is designed for an estimator who has a foundation in electrical estimating and is ready to continue developing their skills. Candidates do not need to have experience estimating the complete electrical scope independently. Experience with larger commercial electrical projects is a plus, but not required. Why Join Us?
