Job Description
Roa Brothers Construction is a growing, family-owned construction company looking for a motivated Project Estimator to join our team. We're looking for someone who enjoys being involved in more than just estimating. As a small company, everyone plays an important role, so this position may have the opportunity to wear multiple hats and assist with various aspects of our projects and operations as needed. Our primary focus is commercial construction, with occasional residential projects. If you're organized, detail-oriented, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are exactly the same, we'd love to hear from you. Position Details Contractor position to start, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time employee. Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. Hours may vary depending on project workload, so flexibility is important. Office-based with occasional site visits as needed. Responsibilities Review plans, specifications, and construction documents to prepare accurate cost estimates. Perform quantity takeoffs and estimate labor, material, and equipment costs. Evaluate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers. Prepare detailed bid proposals and project budgets. Identify cost-saving opportunities. Work closely with company leadership throughout the bidding process. Assist with budgeting, project tracking, procurement, and other operational tasks as needed. Help maintain organized estimating files and project documentation. Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors. Qualifications Previous experience estimating commercial construction projects preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications. Experience with estimating software is a plus. Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Construction field experience is a plus but not required.
