An Estimator provides cost estimates for a project, based on an evaluation of the materials, labor, time and equipment needed to complete the project. May specialize in many aspects of construction or in manufacturing and design industries.
Build detailed price sheets and estimates for repair and manufacturing jobs using drawing layouts, BOMs, historical job data, material requirements, and current pricing. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, dimensions, tolerances, and BOMs to determine job requirements. Accurately identify materials, quantities, lengths, dimensions, and other requirements necessary to develop complete pricing. Evaluate manual machining and assembly requirements to ensure labor and production expectations are realistically reflected in estimates. Identify required outside processes and incorporate associated costs and lead times into estimates. Understand the purchasing process and how material availability, vendor pricing, lead times, and outside services affect the overall estimate. Prepare and deliver clear, complete, and accurate quotes to customers and internal requestors. Communicate with customers, Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, and shop personnel to clarify scope and resolve missing or conflicting information before a quote is issued. Maintain awareness of multiple active quotes and retain important job details while moving between competing priorities. Adjust quickly when priorities change while maintaining existing commitments, deadlines, and accuracy. Maintain accurate estimating information and supporting documentation within company ERP and computer systems. Proactively communicate when additional information, vendor pricing, technical clarification, or another issue may affect the expected quote turnaround time.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in estimating, machining, manufacturing, mechanical repair, fabrication, industrial equipment, or a related technical environment preferred. Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, drawing layouts, dimensions, and BOMs. Ability to accurately identify materials and read lengths, dimensions, and quantities. Working knowledge of manual machining processes and assembly constraints. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.

From $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
