Analyze plans, specifications, contracts, RFPs, bid packages, and construction documents. Develop accurate quantity takeoffs and cost analyses. Drive Cost & Labor Strategy Build labor models, crew structures, production rates, and installation strategies. Evaluate risk, schedule impacts, market conditions, and procurement challenges. Develop pricing recommendations and bid strategies to maximize competitiveness and profitability. Manage Vendors & Subcontractors Solicit vendor and subcontractor pricing. Review and level quotes to ensure complete scope coverage. Evaluate lead times, exclusions, warranties, and commercial terms. Support Project Success Participate in bid reviews, risk assessments, value engineering, and executive presentations. Coordinate with Operations, Project Management, Engineering, Safety, Quality, and Business Development teams. Lead project handoff meetings to ensure seamless execution after award. Lead & Mentor Review estimates prepared by junior estimators. Improve estimating standards, templates, quality controls, and best practices. Coach and develop estimating talent across the organization. What We're Looking ForRequired Experience 5+ years of telecommunications, low-voltage, fiber optic, utility, or construction estimating experience. Proven experience independently leading estimates from initial review through final submission. Strong understanding of telecom construction methods, materials, labor development, and project costing. Ability to interpret construction drawings, telecom plans, specifications, and bid documents. Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications Experience with:
Fiber Optics Outside Plant (OSP) Inside Plant (ISP) Structured Cabling Broadband Networks Wireless Infrastructure Data Centers Government or Municipal Projects BICSI certifications or industry credentials. Degree in Construction Management, Telecommunications, Engineering, Business, or related field. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Technical Skills Successful candidates will have experience with: Advanced telecom quantity takeoffs Labor forecasting and productivity analysis Vendor quote comparison and leveling Cost modeling and estimate reconciliation Microsoft Excel (Advanced) Microsoft 365 Suite SharePoint ERP Systems PDF markup and takeoff software Strong written documentation and communication skills What Makes Someone Successful in This Role?
