09/07/2026 Job Description Job Description Estimator is responsible for all allocated inbound Request for Quotation (RFQs). They review drawings, technical documents and other associated documentation to complete take-offs and ultimately provide a quote through partnering with purchasing, sales and account managers in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
Complete take-offs and quotations for all RFQ's brought in by the outside sales team. Send quotations to customer before due date, ensuring sales team is copied. Communicate directly with customer regarding quantity verification/confirmation and quote specifications. Work with the sales team and purchasing agent on proposal strategy. Work with vendors to prepare bids and write proposals. Manage bids that range in size and complexity simultaneously. Review and analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare cost for projects and RFQs. Utilize market-based price list provided by sales manager where applicable. Work with sales team to understand and complete an entire bid package properly
Requirements:
Knowledge of how to read engineering drawings and interpret schematics. Construction bidding experience a plus. Basic computer skills; Excel, Word, Outlook, (Estimating Software is a plus)
