401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Chapa Service Company, a growing full-service mechanical contractor, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator & Project Support Coordinator to join our team in Garland, Texas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial mechanical construction estimating and a thorough understanding of HVAC systems, construction processes, subcontractor management, and project delivery. This position plays a critical role in developing accurate and competitive estimates while supporting a smooth transition from estimating to operations. The Mechanical Estimator & Project Support Coordinator will work closely with project managers, field leadership, vendors, subcontractors, and customers to ensure projects are properly scoped, priced, and positioned for successful execution. Projects typically range from $50,000 to $2.0 million. Responsibilities Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial mechanical construction projects. Review plans, specifications, bid documents, and contract requirements to identify project risks, scope gaps, and pricing opportunities. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations. Develop quantity takeoffs, labor projections, equipment costs, and material pricing. Collaborate with project managers, field personnel, vendors, and customers to develop complete and competitive project proposals. Participate in project turnover meetings to ensure awarded projects transition smoothly from estimating to operations. Assist project managers with the preparation and pricing of change orders as needed. Support procurement activities, including vendor solicitation, equipment and material buyouts, and long-lead item identification. Assist with the coordination and tracking of Requests for Information (RFIs) and related project documentation. Support value engineering efforts and identify opportunities to improve project profitability during preconstruction. Maintain current knowledge of labor, material, equipment, and market pricing trends. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners. Qualifications Minimum 7 years of commercial mechanical construction estimating experience. Strong understanding of HVAC and mechanical construction systems. Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents. Experience preparing detailed cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and bid proposals. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and construction estimating software. Experience with HeavyBid or similar estimating platforms is preferred. Familiarity with public works projects and prevailing wage requirements is preferred. Experience supporting change orders, procurement activities, and RFI processes is a plus. Experience with Build Ops is beneficial but not required.
