The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects by reviewing project plans, specifications, and other documentation. The Estimator works to develop competitive bids while ensuring profitability and compliance with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents. Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors. Solicit and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors. Analyze project risks and recommend cost-saving opportunities. Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals within deadlines. Maintain estimating databases and cost records. Collaborate with project managers to ensure smooth project handover after award. Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and client meetings as required. Monitor market pricing and industry trends. Assist in value engineering and budgeting throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. 2-5+ years of estimating experience (depending on position level). Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Accubid, ProEst, or similar) and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Strong communication and negotiation abilities. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
