PURPOSE An Estimator is responsible for reading specifications, drawings, and email RFI's to ensure generated proposal is accurate and concise. Ideal candidates will have 3 or more years of experience. Estimators are often found in fabrication of modular buildings where projects require specialized knowledge or equipment. SCOPE This position reports to the Partner and must work in partnership with other key members of the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
An Estimator typically has a wide range of responsibilities, which can include: Review drawings, specifications, RFI's to generate Bill of Materials for estimating and procurement Obtain prices from vendors and suppliers Liaising with vendors and suppliers for deliveries. Assisting in design reviews Coordinating communication between team members and clients, including scheduling meetings and phone conferences, and answering technical questions Coordinating with vendors to ensure that materials are delivered on time and within budget On-site project inspections that may include: P&ID walk throughs, dimensional checks, and other ITP inspection points Attend Kick - Off meetings Preparing progress reports for management regarding the status of estimates
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous modular building experience a must
- Excellent communication and administrative skills
- Exceptional organization and time management skills
- Ability to meet all assigned deadlines
- Detail oriented and a self-starter, with the ability to work with little oversight.
EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred or years commensurate experience in modular buildings
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents
- Ability to effectively communicate over the phone or in person with potential suppliers.
- Ability to communicate effectively before groups of customers and/or internal employees of the organization.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Pay:
$110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
