Job Description

Overview We are seeking a driven, self-starting Drafter/Estimator to join our growing company and team! The ideal candidate will have a background in creating detailed technical drawings and schematics using various CAD Software. This role is essential in translating concepts into precise plans that guide the fabrication and manufacturing processes. The Drafter will collaborate closely with with other team members, working efficiently to reach required goals to close the job. The Drafter will also compile quotes and estimations for the job in a timely manner accurately identifying materials needed with current market pricing and consistent customer follow-ups to close the sale. Responsibilities Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and Sketchup. Create and modify schematics for various projects; ensuring compliance with industry standards. Collaborate clearly with customers to understand project requirements and translate them into accurate drafts. Maintain organized records of all drafts, revisions, and related documentation. Accurately identifying materials needed with current marketing pricing for project estimation quotes, with customer follow-up to close the sale. Following through with project completion and timeline by collaborating with team to order necessary materials for the project. Attention to detail is must! Conduct quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness before handed of to the shop. Will assist team with metal sales, answering the phone, and will assist with greeting and helping walk-in customers. Must have a positive attitude and are able to work well with others. Qualifications Must be a self-starter with a high level of motivation and initiative to close the job. Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD is a must and Sketchup is preferred. Experience in drafting for construction, fabrication, or manufacturing industries is preferred. Strong understanding of technical drawing standards and practices. Ability to create detailed schematics and build plans effectively. Familiarity with 2D and 3D animation techniques is a plus. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are essential. Strong communication skills to collaborate clearly and effectively with team members. An Associates degree is required and certification in Drafting Technology or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Must be proficient Excel. Must be organized with strong communication, sales, and customer service skills. •As a small company, we are needing someone willing to work hard and grow with us.
