Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Commercial Estimator with 5 plus years of experience to join our team and drive the success of our construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project plans and specifications, and collaborating closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams. Your expertise will help ensure projects are financially viable, competitive, and completed within scope and budget. Responsibilities Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material requirements, labor costs, and overall project expenses. Develop detailed cost estimates using estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar tools, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness. Collaborate with project managers, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to negotiate pricing and terms that align with project budgets and objectives. Manage multiple estimating projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of comprehensive bids and proposals. Utilize construction management software like Bluebeam for document review, markup, and collaboration on project plans. Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs from blueprints and technical drawings to determine material quantities and cost estimates. Monitor project costs throughout the bidding process and assist in cost control strategies during project execution. Review contracts, change orders, and scope modifications to update estimates accordingly. Communicate effectively with clients to clarify project requirements, present estimates, and negotiate terms confidently. Maintain organized records of all estimating activities, supporting documentation, and correspondence for future reference. Skills Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent construction estimating tools. Strong knowledge of Bluebeam for blueprint reading, markup review, and collaboration on construction documents. Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing with suppliers and subcontractors. Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction specifications accurately. Experience managing multiple projects as a construction estimator within the commercial sector. Solid understanding of construction management software platforms like Bluebeam or similar tools. Expertise in cost management, material cost estimating, and budgeting for large-scale projects. Familiarity with Xactimate or other estimating platforms is a plus but not required. Strong communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration. Construction site experience coupled with a comprehensive understanding of the construction industry's best practices. $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
