What You Will Be Doing
Our Estimators are our leaders on projects and collaborate with clients and suppliers to prepare and complete bid/submittals for mechanical construction projects. What You Will Be Doing
- Develop accurate and timely mechanical construction estimates on which we base competitive bids and proposals
- Analyze and interpret detailed drawings and specifications
- Determine and price value-engineered alternatives to plans and specifications
- Perform budget pricing from schematic drawings and narrative
- Lead the functioning of the Estimating Department; the education and development of junior personnel; on-going development and maintenance of computerized estimating programs and databases; congenial relations with clients and vendors
- Work on change-orders and cost-to-complete estimates of on-going projects
- Help create and communicate company standards for estimating mechanical design/build and plans and specs work
- Review estimates created by others for accuracy and completeness
- Perform job handoffs from estimating to operations through clearly demonstrating detailed scopes of work, specifications and job specific conditionsWhat You Need for this Position
- 3+ years of mechanical estimating experience
- Strong understanding of estimating software
- Strong team mentality
- Experience in MS Office Suite, Accubid, LiveCount, McCormick, and ConEst preferred
- Project list or bid list preferred not requiredWhat's In It for You
