Job Description
Position Overview CP Build is a leading interior finishes contractor serving projects throughout the United States. We partner with general contractors, owners, and construction teams to deliver high-quality finish solutions on some of the most complex and demanding projects in the market. CP Build is looking for an experienced Estimator to join the team in Salt Lake City, reporting to the Senior Estimator. This role directly impacts project outcomes and sales growth for the organization. Experience balancing process with autonomy — and communicating proactively — is key. About Us CP Build was founded in 1980 and is a privately held and fast-growing commercial finishes contractor. We are a group of highly talented, tight-knit construction professionals mixed with strategic and passionate individuals focused on executing projects and supplying the best-curated products from around the world. Key Responsibilities Review and analyze drawings and specifications to prepare cost, material, and labor estimates on new projects presented and vetted by the Business Development team Prepare budgets and quotes for projects of varying sizes, complexity, and type; work closely with Business Development throughout Prepare conceptual proposals with minimal project information Provide preconstruction services, including estimating shop drawing milestones, value engineering, constructability, schedule review, and identifying long-lead items Lead bid preparation (in conjunction with Business Development) and consistently meet submission deadlines Coordinate price packages with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, designers, and architects; revise pricing as needed Generate quantity take-offs for elements including cabinets, countertops, lighting, plumbing fixtures, flooring, bath accessories, mirrors, and more Qualifications 2+ years of experience in Commercial Construction 2+ years of experience as an Estimator, or a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field Ability to interact with owners, contractors, designers, and subcontractors on budgets, proposals, bids, and value engineering options Excellent time management skills; able to handle multiple priorities and challenges daily Proven ability to consistently meet deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical skills and mathematical aptitude Proficient with Excel and a working knowledge of MS Office Demonstrated accuracy, thoroughness, and follow-through Team-oriented, proactive, and calm under pressure Why Join CP Build Full-time role, Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm (deadline-driven; most Estimators work approximately 45-50 hours/week).
