Duties Prepare detailed cost estimates for industrial construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project requirements using industry-standard estimating software such as Primavera, Microsoft Projects, and Bluebeam. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop accurate pricing strategies that align with project scope and budget objectives. Conduct thorough site visits to gather real-time data on existing conditions, materials, and labor needs, ensuring estimates reflect current market conditions. Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Develop comprehensive bid proposals that clearly outline scope of work, costs, schedules, and contractual terms. Monitor project costs throughout the construction lifecycle to identify potential overruns or savings opportunities through effective cost control measures. Assist in contract review and management by understanding contractual obligations related to pricing, scope changes, and risk mitigation. Support project management teams in planning and scheduling activities by providing accurate cost forecasts and resource estimates. Skills Proficiency in construction estimating software such as Primavera; experience with Bluebeam is highly desirable. Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with vendors, subcontractors, and clients. Solid understanding of construction management principles including site operations, safety protocols, and project delivery methods. Knowledge of contracts, legal considerations, and cost control strategies within the construction industry. Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately for precise estimating. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with diverse teams including project managers, engineers, suppliers, and clients. Construction site experience that provides practical insights into labor productivity and material requirements is a plus.
