Full-Time Position Overview Cascade Contents is seeking an experienced, highly organized Contents Estimator responsible for producing accurate, complete, and timely estimates for pack-out, inventory, cleaning, storage, manipulation, and pack-back services. This position plays a critical role in turning completed production work into accurate billing and ultimately cash. The ideal candidate understands restoration/insurance estimating, is comfortable working with adjusters and insurance documentation, and has the discipline to keep estimates moving without allowing a backlog to develop. Primary Responsibilities Prepare accurate contents estimates for pack-out, cleaning, storage, manipulation, and pack-back services. Review job documentation, photographs, inventories, production notes, labor, equipment, and materials before completing estimates. Ensure all legitimate billable work performed is captured. Maintain estimate accuracy while protecting company gross margin. Write preliminary estimates quickly when required. Review completed jobs and prepare final estimates for billing. Identify missing documentation before an estimate is submitted. Communicate with Project Managers and production staff when additional information is needed. Work closely with the Coordinator to ensure completed jobs move quickly into invoicing. Respond to insurance adjuster questions and requests for supporting documentation. Review insurance comparative estimates and identify differences in scope. Prepare estimate revisions and supplements when supported by the job documentation. Maintain detailed notes regarding estimate status and outstanding requirements. Keep the estimating queue current and prevent estimates from becoming aged. Assist management with identifying underbilling, missed line items, or margin concerns. Performance Expectations The Estimator will be expected to maintain: Accurate and defensible estimates Fast estimate turnaround Minimal estimate backlog Complete capture of legitimate billable work Strong documentation supporting every estimate Clear communication with PMs, Coordinator, and management Consistent follow-up on insurance estimate questions Strong gross-margin awareness Minimal billing delays caused by estimating Preferred Qualifications Restoration or contents estimating experience preferred Xactimate or comparable estimating software experience strongly preferred Experience working with insurance claims and adjusters Understanding of pack-out, pack-back, storage, cleaning, and contents manipulation Strong attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication Ability to manage a high-volume estimating queue Comfortable challenging or discussing insurance scope differences professionally Strong understanding of labor, materials, equipment, and job costing Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
