Utilize estimating software platforms to develop accurate project budgets and bids. Manage project estimates from initial concept through final bid submission, ensuring alignment with client expectations and project scope. Conduct material cost estimating and pricing strategies while considering current market conditions to optimize project profitability. Collaborate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams through effective negotiation to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms. Review construction management software data and blueprints regularly to ensure estimates reflect updated project changes or revisions. Assist in managing project budgets by monitoring costs throughout the construction process and implementing cost control measures. Interpret technical drawings accurately and review construction plans for potential issues that could impact costs or schedules. Support project management efforts by providing detailed estimation reports, spreadsheets, and cost analysis documentation. Requirements Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry. Proficiency with estimating software platforms; experience with Bluebeam is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, construction drawing review, and interpreting technical specifications. Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel spreadsheets for cost analysis and data management. Ability to estimate material requirements from blueprints accurately and assess associated costs effectively. Experience with construction management software (e.g., Procore) for project tracking and documentation. Skilled in negotiation with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to achieve optimal pricing solutions. Familiarity with contracts, project management principles, cost control strategies, and estimating for commercial projects. Construction site experience combined with a solid understanding of construction processes enhances estimation accuracy. Strong communication skills for client interaction, team collaboration, and presenting detailed estimates clearly.
