Description Come join an award winning manufacturing company! The Associate Estimator position exists to qualify and prepare estimates for JointMaster expansion joint cover systems and fire barrier systems, from architectural, structural, and specification documents. This role will support the estimating team in developing accurate and timely bids. Qualified candidates will display a positive attitude and have a strong desire to perform as a team player while supporting various members of the sales and estimating teams.
What you will do:
Provide support as necessary to meet the needs of customers and internal stakeholders.
Review architectural, structural, and specification documents to identify expansion joint cover system and fire barrier system requirements.
Review bid invitations and qualify projects to determine alignment with JointMaster products, capabilities, project requirements, strategic objectives, and probability of success.
Interact positively and professionally with customers, architects, contractors, distributors, consultants, and internal team members.
Set up projects by organizing bid documents, converting drawing files, creating project summaries, and entering project information into estimating software.
Perform quantity takeoffs and review addenda, revised drawings, and project updates.
Submit RFIs and prepare bid qualifications, clarifications, assumptions, and exceptions.
Coordinate with Regional Managers, Sales Representatives, and Project Managers regarding project opportunities and bid strategy.
Assist in preparing marked-up drawings, preliminary layouts, and shop drawings.
Maintain project files and participate in ongoing training.
Job Specifications:
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
