The primary responsibility of this role is to install flooring materials efficiently and accurately, ensuring high-quality results that meet client expectations. As an independent contractor, you will have the flexibility to manage your own schedule while delivering professional installation services. Duties Install various types of flooring, including carpet, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, and tile, according to project specifications and industry standards. Prepare work areas by measuring, cutting, and leveling surfaces to ensure proper installation. Follow detailed installation instructions and safety protocols to ensure quality workmanship and safety on-site. Use hand tools and power tools effectively to complete installations efficiently. Communicate with clients or project managers regarding project progress and any issues that arise during installation. Maintain a clean work environment by removing debris and organizing tools and materials after each project. Ensure all installations are completed within agreed timelines while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship. Requirements Proven experience as a flooring installer or in a similar role involving flooring installation. Strong knowledge of different flooring materials and installation techniques. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, or technical instructions. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Reliable transportation to access various job sites independently. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to safety guidelines. Physical stamina and dexterity necessary for lifting heavy materials, standing for extended periods, and performing precise work. Valid driver's license preferred but not mandatory depending on job site locations.
