Job Description
Static Tile is looking for experienced residential tile installers to join our network of independent subcontractors for ongoing remodeling projects throughout the Atlanta metro area. We are looking for skilled, dependable tile professionals who can work independently, produce high-quality finished work, communicate well, and show up when they say they will. This is not a full-time employee position. Projects will be offered as work becomes available, with the goal of building long-term working relationships with reliable subcontractors. Responsibilities Install tile in residential renovation and remodeling projects Install floor tile, wall tile, backsplashes, shower tile, tub surrounds, and other tile applications Work with ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, and large-format tile Perform accurate measurements and tile layout Prepare substrates properly before installation Install and work with appropriate waterproofing systems Perform mortar/thinset application and proper setting techniques Make accurate cuts around walls, corners, drains, niches, fixtures, and other obstacles Install shower floors and properly pitch to drains Install Schluter and/or other recognized waterproofing systems Maintain consistent grout joints and clean, professional lines Complete grouting, caulking, transitions, and finishing work Identify substrate or jobsite issues before beginning installation Communicate material, layout, or construction issues promptly Coordinate professionally with carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and other trades Protect surrounding surfaces and finished areas Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Complete assigned work according to project specifications and quality standards Requirements 3+ years of professional residential tile installation experience Strong knowledge of residential tile installation and remodeling Demonstrated experience with showers and wet-area installations Strong understanding of substrate preparation and waterproofing Experience with Schluter and/or comparable waterproofing systems Able to properly lay out tile before installation Able to perform precise cuts and detailed finish work Comfortable installing large-format tile Experience with ceramic, porcelain, and/or natural stone Able to work independently without constant supervision Own professional tile installation tools Reliable transportation Able to travel to residential job sites throughout the Atlanta metro area Reliable, punctual, and responsive Strong communication skills Professional conduct on residential job sites Takes pride in clean, high-quality workmanship Able to work respectfully and efficiently alongside other trades Basic knowledge of jobsite safety Comfortable working as an independent 1099 subcontractor Able to provide a W-9 Able to provide professional references Application Requirements Please include the following with your application: Resume or detailed work history Years of professional tile installation experience List of primary tile skills and areas of expertise Photos or portfolio of recent tile work Photos of completed showers and wet-area projects, if available Three professional references General Atlanta-area service area Current availability Typical labor rate, day rate, or project pricing structure Confirmation that you have your own professional tile tools and reliable transportation Confirmation that you are comfortable working as a 1099 independent subcontractor
