Responsibilities Measure and interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to determine flooring layouts and installation procedures. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and repairing subfloors to ensure optimal adhesion and durability of flooring materials. Install a variety of flooring types including hardwood, vinyl, tile, epoxy coatings, carpets, and laminate with attention to detail and craftsmanship. Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to cut, shape, and secure flooring materials according to specifications. Perform floor refinishing tasks such as sanding, buffing, sealing, and water damage restoration to restore existing floors to their best condition. Adhere strictly to building installation safety compliance standards throughout all phases of work. Assist with related tasks such as drywall installation, caulking, trim carpentry, fixture installation, remodeling projects, and general handyman duties as needed. Experience Proven construction site experience with a strong background in flooring installation or related trades such as carpentry or drywall finishing. Familiarity with interpreting blueprints, schematics, construction plans, and technical drawings is essential. Hands-on experience with epoxy floor installation, tile laying, hardwood floor installation, vinyl flooring, carpet installation, and floor refinishing techniques. Knowledge of building material installation safety protocols and ability to work safely with hand tools and power tools. Experience in restoration industry practices including water damage restoration and floor care is a plus. Ability to handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy materials safely while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
