Job Summary Potter Painting and Remodeling is seeking a skilled and reliable Tile Installer to join our residential remodeling team. We perform custom Kitchen and Bath remodels, Basement finishing, Deck building, Interior/Exterior Painting, and various Home Improvement Projects in the Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati Area. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience installing tile in residential remodeling projects and takes pride in producing clean, professional, high-quality work. Experience or skills in other areas of remodeling , such as framing, drywall, carpentry, flooring, painting, or light plumbing and electrical work, would be a strong plus. This position requires knowledge of proper tile installation techniques and the ability to work effectively with other members of our team. Responsibilities Install ceramic, porcelain, glass, and natural stone tile for residential kitchens, bathrooms, showers, floors, backsplashes, and other remodeling projects. Demo old materials and prepare surfaces for tile installation, including measuring, layout, leveling, waterproofing, underlayment, and substrate preparation. Perform accurate tile layout, cutting, fitting, grouting, caulking, and finishing. Install shower systems and waterproofing materials according to manufacturer specifications and applicable building codes. Read and follow written scopes of work, project plans, drawings, and installation instructions. Coordinate tile work with other trades and team members to keep projects moving efficiently. Protect existing finishes, flooring, cabinets, and other areas of the home during construction. Identify potential installation or substrate issues and communicate them to the project manager before proceeding. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area throughout each project. Ensure completed work meets company quality standards and applicable local building codes. Communicate professionally with team members, project manager, and homeowners. Qualifications 2+ years of experience installing tile in residential remodeling or construction projects. Experience with bathroom and shower tile installations strongly preferred. Knowledge of proper surface preparation, waterproofing, tile layout, grouting, and finishing techniques. Proficiency with tile saws, grinders, hand tools, and other related equipment. Ability to accurately measure, calculate layouts, and follow project plans. Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, kneel, bend, stand for extended periods, and work in various conditions. Provide own basic hand tools. Company provides most specialty tools. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation to and from work sites, and cell phone required. Position & Compensation Full-time employee position preferred; part-time considered. Subcontractor positions may also be considered. Subcontractors should provide proof of appropriate general liability and workers' compensation insurance. Hourly rate based on skill level and experience.
