Job Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking hardworking, enthusiastic apprentice/journeymen who are eager to learn and take pride in their craft. This is not just a job; it's a career opportunity for those who understand the value of learning a trade. Our ideal candidate possesses a great attitude, is willing to tackle long days, and shares our passion for quality work.REQUIRES AT LEAST 1 YEAR OF FLOORING EXPERIENCE AND THIS POSITION PAYS 1099 & HOURLY NOT BY THE YARD OR SQ FT. WE WILL CONSIDER TAKING ON A FLOORING APPRENTICE WITH NO EXPERIENCE THAT REALLY WANTS TO LEARN THE TRADE.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and installation of flooring according to company procedures, with a strong attention to detail.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment by keeping tools clean and orderly.
- Follow directions from senior installers without a negative attitude.
- Learn to operate company machinery and power tools responsibly.
- Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner; trustworthiness is essential.
- Maintain good hygiene and grooming standards; smoking or drinking on job sites is strictly prohibited.
- Ensure that high-quality company standards are consistently met.
- Complete a 90-day probation period during which work ethic, timeliness, and attitude will be evaluated.
- Travel to various job sites throughout the week.
- Clean up job sites post-installation, including vacuuming, moving furniture, and packing up tools.
Qualifications:
- Some experience in the flooring industry is required, even as a helper; photos of previous work are a plus.
- Must pass a background check; no felonies are permitted.
- Ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds repeatedly.
- Must be reliable and punctual; excessive absenteeism may result in termination.
- Willingness to crouch, squat, stand, walk, and lift as necessary.
- A strong desire to learn the trade and grow within the company.
Compensation and Work Environment:
- This is a 1099 contract position that does not include benefits.
- Pay is bi-weekly, based on a daily wage around $18 to $25 per hour, with options for weekly pay advances under certain conditions.
- A meet-up point in Southfield-Oak Park is available for those who wish to ride with the crew.
- Work is Monday through Friday, with weekends off.

(CARPET,LVT,LAMINATE,VINYL).WERE WILLING TO TRAIN BUT EXPERIENCE DOESN'T INCLUDE CARPENTRY OR REFINISHING FLOORS. WE INSTALL MINIMAL HARDWOOD FLOORING.
