Full Job Description SUMMARY:

Garage Force of Merrimack Valley is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Lead Floor Coating Installer who can take ownership of an installation from start to finish.

Pay:

$28-$35/hour depending on experience + overtime opportunities + performance bonuses Our ideal candidate is an experienced epoxy, polyaspartic, polyurea, or concrete floor coating installer who has successfully led a crew. If you already know how to run floor coating installations and can step into a working leadership role quickly, we especially want to hear from you. This is a hands-on leadership position. We're not looking for a foreman who stands back and tells other people what to do. You'll work alongside your crew while setting the pace, solving problems, maintaining our quality standards, communicating with customers, and making sure the job gets finished correctly and on time. We're building additional installation capacity as Garage Force grows. For the right person, this position offers the opportunity to grow beyond leading one crew and into a future Installation Manager or multi-crew leadership role.

WHAT WE NEED FROM OUR CREW LEADER

1. Lead by Example Work alongside your crew as a hands-on installer Plan the day's work, assign responsibilities, and keep the crew productive Set expectations and hold teammates accountable for quality, safety, and performance Train and coach installers on proper techniques and procedures 2. Solve Problems & Communicate Assess unexpected jobsite challenges and develop reasonable solutions without needing the owner to make every decision Keep projects moving while protecting quality and the customer experience Communicate problems early — what happened, how you're addressing it, potential impact, and whether additional support is needed Recognize when an issue needs to be escalated before it costs the crew hours of productivity 3. Own the Installation Prepare concrete through grinding, repairs, coating removal, and other surface-preparation methods Operate floor grinders, hand grinders, vacuums, generators, and other installation equipment Mix and apply coating systems according to specifications Inspect work throughout the installation and correct issues before they become callbacks or redos Serve as the primary customer contact during installation and complete the final walkthrough 4. Own the Equipment & Jobsite Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite Take ownership of the condition and organization of the company truck and trailer Properly use, maintain, and troubleshoot company tools and equipment Track materials and communicate supply needs before they become emergencies Drive company vehicles and tow trailers safely Complete required job documentation, checklists, and photos

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience successfully leading a construction, flooring, coating, painting, or skilled-trades crew Strong problem-solving skills and sound jobsite judgment Excellent proactive communication skills Hands-on leadership style — you lead while doing the work Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with construction equipment Dependable, punctual, and accountable Professional communication skills with homeowners and commercial customers Valid driver's license Ability to pass a background check, including motor vehicle record check

STRONGLY PREFERRED

Previous epoxy, polyaspartic, polyurea, concrete coating, or similar flooring installation experience Experience independently running floor coating jobs from arrival through completion Experience operating floor grinders and other concrete preparation equipment Experience driving a pickup truck and towing a trailer Experienced crew leader but new to floor coatings? We may still consider an experienced working crew leader from a related trade who has the leadership ability, mechanical aptitude, work ethic, and judgment we're looking for. We can teach the right person our specific Garage Force coating systems. However, this is not an entry-level leadership position. Previous experience successfully leading a crew is required.

PHYSICAL & SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS

Full-time, hands-on construction position Ability to perform physical labor for 8-12 hours Ability to regularly lift 50+ lbs. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in hot, cold, and humid conditions Travel to jobs throughout Southern New Hampshire and Northwest Boston Metro Occasional longer days when a project requires it Overnight travel generally not required outside of occasional training
