Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Hardwood Flooring Installer and Refinisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, refinishing, and restoring hardwood floors with precision and care, ensuring each project meets the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. Duties Install hardwood flooring according to construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings, ensuring accurate measurements and proper alignment. Refinish existing hardwood floors through sanding, buffing, water damage restoration, and applying protective coatings such as epoxy or sealants. Perform floor care tasks including cleaning, buffing, and maintenance to prolong the lifespan of installed floors. Interpret blueprints and technical schematics to execute precise installation or restoration procedures. Use hand tools, power tools, caulking guns, and other equipment safely to cut, shape, and install flooring materials such as vinyl, tile, carpet, or wood. Handle manual tasks involving lifting heavy materials or equipment while maintaining strict adherence to building installation safety compliance standards. Assist with related construction activities such as trim carpentry, fixture installation, cabinet setup, or construction painting as needed on-site. Conduct water damage restoration efforts and perform floor refinishing work that aligns with industry standards for quality and durability. Read construction plans thoroughly to ensure accurate execution of flooring layouts and installation details. Maintain a clean work environment by managing debris and ensuring tools are properly stored after use. Skills Proven experience in hardwood floor installation, refinishing, and restoration industry practices. Strong knowledge of construction estimating processes for flooring projects. Skilled in epoxy floor installation, vinyl floor installation, tile laying, carpet installation, and related building material installation techniques. Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction plans. Expertise in using hand tools (e.g., chisels, hammers), power tools (e.g., saws, drills), caulking guns, buffing machines, and other equipment safely and effectively. Familiarity with water damage restoration methods and floor care procedures to ensure long-lasting results. Ability to handle manual handling tasks involving lifting heavy materials or equipment while maintaining safety standards. Knowledge of building installation safety compliance regulations across construction sites. Experience with blueprint reading for precise layout planning. Capable of performing additional tasks such as cabinet installation or construction painting when required. Excellent attention to detail combined with strong problem-solving skills for interpreting schematics and technical instructions.
