Responsibilities Measure and interpret construction plans and technical drawings to accurately prepare for flooring installation projects. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and repairing subfloors using hand tools and power tools to ensure optimal installation conditions. Install various flooring materials such as carpet, vinyl, hardwood, tile, epoxy coatings, and perform floor refinishing as needed. Handle manual tasks including cutting, trimming, caulking, drywall work, and trim carpentry to achieve seamless finishes. Use appropriate safety procedures to maintain construction site safety compliance during all phases of installation. Manage material handling efficiently by transporting and positioning building materials while adhering to safety guidelines. Collaborate with team members and interpret technical drawings or construction plans to execute projects accurately and efficiently. Conduct restoration work such as water damage repairs or floor care maintenance to extend the lifespan of installed floors. Install fixtures, cabinets, or other building components as part of remodeling or renovation projects when required. Skills Extensive experience with flooring installation including carpet, vinyl, hardwood, tile laying, epoxy floor application, and floor refinishing techniques. Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., saws, hammers), power tools (e.g., drills, sanders), and construction equipment necessary for precise installation work. Strong understanding of construction estimating processes for project planning and material ordering. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and technical drawings accurately. Knowledge of building material installation standards with a focus on safety compliance on construction sites. Skilled in manual handling tasks such as lifting heavy materials safely and efficiently. Experience in drywall installation, caulking, trim carpentry, fixture installation, water damage restoration, and general remodeling projects. Familiarity with water damage restoration techniques and floor care practices to maintain high-quality results over time. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with hands-on craftsmanship in a variety of building environments.
