Full Job Description Role Overview:
MGMT Residential seeks a Flooring Technician to join its growing team. The flooring technician is responsible for installing, repairing, replacing, and maintaining a variety of flooring materials in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires precision, knowledge of flooring products, and the ability to use specialized tools to ensure durable, high-quality finishes that meet customer expectations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Measure, prepare, and inspect work areas before installation.
  • Remove existing flooring and prepare subfloors by cleaning, leveling, and repairing surfaces.
  • Install flooring materials such as hardwood, laminate, vinyl, tile, carpet, and engineered flooring.
  • Cut, fit, and secure flooring materials using hand and power tools.
  • Apply adhesives, underlayment, grout, and finishing materials as required.
  • Repair damaged flooring and perform maintenance or replacement work.
  • Read blueprints, work orders, and installation specifications.
  • Ensure installations comply with manufacturer guidelines, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized worksite.
  • Communicate with customers, contractors, and team members to ensure project satisfaction and timely completion.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED (preferred by many employers)
  • At least 3-5 years of flooring installation experience
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a background check

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Time management and ability to meet deadlines
  • Customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (preferred)
  • Knowledge of flooring adhesives, moisture barriers, and industry installation standards
