Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled and dependable Experienced Flooring Installer with a strong background in construction or a related skilled trade. We are looking for applicants who already have hands-on experience working in flooring, construction, remodeling, carpentry, handyman work, property maintenance, or another similar skilled trade. Previous professional flooring installation experience is strongly preferred and may qualify candidates for a higher starting pay rate. However, candidates with solid construction or skilled-trade experience who already know how to work with tools, measure accurately, follow job-site procedures, and perform quality hands-on work will also be considered. This position involves flooring installation on residential, commercial, multifamily, and government properties throughout Abilene and the surrounding area. Responsibilities Install carpet, LVT/LVP, vinyl, laminate, and other flooring products Measure, cut, fit, and secure flooring materials accurately Remove existing flooring and prepare subfloors for installation Clean, level, and prepare surfaces and apply adhesives or underlayment as needed Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively Perform minor subfloor repairs, trim work, caulking, and transition installation Load, unload, and handle flooring materials and equipment Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites Identify installation or job-site issues and communicate them to management Work efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship Requirements Previous hands-on experience in flooring, construction, remodeling, carpentry, handyman work, property maintenance, or a similar skilled trade Flooring installation experience strongly preferred Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to meet background and identification requirements for access to Dyess Air Force Base and other government job sites Comfortable and experienced using hand tools and power tools Ability to read a tape measure, make accurate cuts, and perform physically demanding work Dependable, professional, safety-conscious, and committed to quality workmanship Applicants without relevant skilled-trade experience, a valid driver's license, or the ability to access military/government job sites will not be considered. Pay:
$20.00 - $27.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 45.0 per week
