This role is primarily focused on the installation of laminate, luxury vinyl plank (LVP), luxury vinyl tile (LVT), engineered wood, and tile flooring . We are looking for someone with hands-on flooring installation experience who takes pride in quality workmanship, works efficiently, and works well as part of a professional field crew. Residential remodeling experience is a plus. Position Summary The Hard Surface Flooring Installer works with project leads and other installers to complete residential flooring projects. Responsibilities include flooring installation, floor preparation, transitions and trim, material handling, job-site documentation, and maintaining a clean, safe, and professional work environment. The primary work area extends from San Antonio to Austin and surrounding communities. Travel to Austin will be required based on project assignments and scheduling. Key Responsibilities Flooring Installation Install laminate, LVP, LVT, engineered wood, and other hard-surface flooring Install ceramic and porcelain tile based on experience Measure, lay out, cut, fit, and install flooring materials Remove existing flooring and prepare surfaces for installation Perform minor subfloor preparation, patching, leveling, and related corrective work Install transitions, reducers, thresholds, quarter-round, shoe molding, and related trim Remove and reinstall baseboards when required Fill nail holes and caulk finished trim as needed Mix and apply adhesives, thinset, grout, patching compounds, and related materials Follow manufacturer installation requirements and project specifications Job-Site Operations Travel to residential projects throughout the San Antonio-Austin service area Accommodate early-morning departures when required for Austin-area assignments Set up work areas and protect customer property and finished surfaces Load and unload tools, equipment, and flooring materials Perform required moisture readings and document results Take required before, during, and after installation photos Complete required job-site checklists and installation documentation Follow project work orders, installation requirements, and completion procedures Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site throughout the workday Remove installation debris and properly handle unused or return materials Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and crew members Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining quality standards Qualifications Previous hands-on hard-surface flooring installation experience Experience installing laminate, LVP, LVT, engineered wood, tile, or similar flooring Ability to accurately measure, cut, fit, and install flooring materials Knowledge of basic subfloor preparation and flooring installation requirements Familiarity with common flooring hand tools and power tools Ability to install transitions and finish trim Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the San Antonio-Austin area Ability to accommodate early start times when required Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail Ability to follow work orders and installation specifications Ability to work effectively as part of a field crew Professional appearance and conduct when working in customers' homes Adherence to a drug- and alcohol-free workplace Preferred Experience Ceramic and porcelain tile installation Residential remodeling and renovation Baseboard, trim, and general finish carpentry Minor drywall, painting, and general home repair Subfloor leveling and preparation Moisture testing and flooring documentation procedures
Pay:
$15.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 50.0 per week
