Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Flooring Installer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience with solid hardwood flooring, ceramic tile installation, subfloor preparation, and related construction work. The Flooring Installer will be responsible for completing flooring removal, installation, repairs, and finishing while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency on the job site. Responsibilities Remove existing flooring and prepare areas for new hardwood and tile installation Install solid tongue-and-groove hardwood flooring according to project specifications Install ceramic tile, including backer board, thinset, grout, and standard transitions Inspect subfloors for soft spots, water damage, rot, loose areas, and other conditions affecting installation Complete localized subfloor repairs and minor surface preparation as needed Measure and cut flooring materials to fit walls, corners, doorways, and other obstructions Complete standard flooring transitions and reinstall reusable trim where applicable Maintain a clean and safe work environment throughout the project Communicate with team members and management regarding job conditions, material needs, and any out-of-scope repairs Skills Proven experience with hardwood flooring and ceramic tile installation Experience with subfloor inspection, repair, and surface preparation Proficiency with common hand and power tools used for flooring installation Ability to take accurate measurements and complete clean, precise cuts Knowledge of proper flooring installation methods and manufacturer requirements Ability to identify potential moisture, structural, or subfloor issues and report them appropriately Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a construction environment Physical ability to perform flooring installation, demolition, lifting, kneeling, and standing for extended periods This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects within the construction industry while honing your skills in flooring installation and related trades.
