Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Flooring Installation Hand/Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and restoring a variety of flooring materials across commercial projects. Your expertise will help transform spaces, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet safety standards and client expectations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from epoxy floors to hardwood installations, contributing to the aesthetic and functional excellence of commercial environments. Duties Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying primers to ensure optimal adhesion of flooring materials Install a wide range of flooring types including epoxy, vinyl, carpet, hardwood, tile, and laminate according to project specifications and blueprints Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for cutting, shaping, and securing flooring materials Interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to execute precise installations Perform floor refinishing tasks such as buffing, sanding, and sealing to restore or enhance existing flooring surfaces Follow all building installation safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment throughout each project Assist with manual handling tasks involving heavy or bulky materials while adhering to proper lifting techniques Qualifications Extensive construction experience with a focus on flooring installation and building material handling Proficiency in construction Proficiency estimating and interpreting technical drawings or blueprints or ability to start Familiarity with the use of hand tools (e.g., caulking guns, chisels) and power tools (e.g., saws, drills) for precise work Knowledge of building installation safety compliance standards and best practices on construction sites Ability to perform restoration work including water damage restoration and floor care maintenance Experience with schematics, fixture installation, trim carpentry, cabinetry setup, remodeling projects, concrete finishing, painting preparation, buffing techniques, and water damage restoration industry standards Strong manual handling skills combined with physical stamina for working on elevated or uneven surfaces Ability to read construction plans accurately and translate schematics into effective installations Skilled in epoxy floor installation, tile laying, carpet installation, vinyl floor installation, hardwood floor installation, and floor refinishing or ability to show potential to become proficient in each.
