Mon - Fri (and some Saturdays) Position Overview Diamond Glass Company, Inc is seeking an experienced Lead Commercial Glazier to lead a field crew and complete high-quality commercial glazing installations. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for a skilled glazier who can interpret plans, solve installation challenges, and keep projects safe, efficient, and on schedule. Key Responsibilities Install storefront systems, curtain walls, entrances, windows, mirrors, glass railings, and specialty glass. Measure, cut, prepare, transport, and install glass and glazing materials. Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and manufacturer instructions. Lay out openings and verify field dimensions before fabrication or installation. Install aluminum framing, door hardware, sealants, gaskets, anchors, and related components. Inspect completed work for alignment, appearance, weather resistance, and specification compliance. Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, subcontractors and customers. Identify field conflicts and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions. Train and mentor apprentices and less-experienced glaziers. Enforce company safety procedures and maintain an organized work area. Operate lifts, scaffolding, power tools, and material-handling equipment safely. Report delays, change-order conditions, damaged materials, and quality concerns promptly. Required Qualifications 5+ years of commercial glazing experience, including leadership or foreman responsibilities. Advanced knowledge of commercial glass installation methods and aluminum glazing systems. Demonstrated experience with storefronts, curtain walls, entrances, insulated glass units, and architectural glass. Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and construction specifications. Strong measuring, layout, troubleshooting, and quality-control skills. Ability to lead a crew professionally and communicate clearly with project manager. Working knowledge of job-site safety practices, fall protection, and personal protective equipment. Ability to lift and position heavy materials with appropriate assistance and equipment. Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Authorization to work in the US. Preferred Qualifications OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Aerial lift, forklift, swing-stage, or scaffold certification. Experience with automatic entrances, door hardware, structural silicone glazing, or unitized curtain-wall systems. First aid and CPR certification. Manufacturer-specific glazing-system training.
