Window Installer, Sub-Contractor Wagoner Roofing - 5.0 Urbandale, IA Job Details Full-time $500 - $5,000 a week 8 hours ago Qualifications Siding Customer communication Trim carpentry Cutting Residential construction experience Schedule management Construction scheduling Managing projects Residential carpentry Construction quality control Crew management Window installation Window framing Full Job Description Overview Owner-Operator Window Installer / Finish Carpenter — 1099 Subcontractor Wagoner Roofing | Urbandale, Iowa | Statewide Travel Required Position Overview Wagoner Roofing is seeking an experienced window installer and finish carpenter to work with us as a 1099 independent subcontractor. This opportunity is for a hands-on installer who will personally review, bid, manage, and complete residential window installation projects. The installer will be responsible for the complete installation from start to finish, including removal, window installation, weatherproofing, exterior finishing, and interior trim carpentry. Our work spans the state of Iowa, and the installer must be willing and able to travel to jobsites as needed. We are looking to build a long-term working relationship with a dependable installation professional who provides consistent workmanship, clear communication, reliable scheduling, and a high standard of quality on every project. Owner-Operator Requirement We are not looking for a subcontracting company that bids projects and then dispatches different crews to perform the work . The person who reviews, bids, and accepts each project must also be the primary installer personally performing and overseeing the work onsite. A consistent helper or established crew may assist when necessary, but projects may not be passed between rotating crews or installers. We need one accountable point of contact who understands the complete project from the initial review through final completion. This requirement allows us to maintain: Consistent workmanship Clear and direct communication Reliable scheduling Accountability throughout the project A consistent experience for our customers Applicants who primarily manage or dispatch rotating installation crews are not a fit for this opportunity. Responsibilities Personally review each project and provide an installation bid before work is scheduled Serve as Wagoner Roofing's primary point of contact throughout the project Personally perform and oversee the installation onsite Travel to assigned jobsites throughout Iowa Remove existing windows while minimizing damage to the home Inspect and properly prepare window openings Install replacement or new-construction windows according to manufacturer specifications Properly flash, insulate, seal, and weatherproof each opening Complete exterior trim, flashing, caulking, and necessary siding work Complete all required interior finish carpentry Install extension jambs, casing, trim, stools, and aprons as needed Match or replicate existing interior trim whenever reasonably possible Identify and communicate concealed damage, rot, framing problems, or changes in the scope of work Protect the homeowner's flooring, furniture, landscaping, and property Maintain a clean and organized jobsite Remove installation debris and leave the property clean upon completion Communicate professionally with homeowners and Wagoner Roofing representatives Maintain a consistent standard of workmanship on every project Project Scheduling and Completion Once an installation begins, the subcontractor is expected to work the project on consecutive scheduled workdays until it is fully completed. Each project must remain the installer's priority from the first day of installation through final completion. Work may only be interrupted for circumstances outside the installer's reasonable control, including: Unsafe weather conditions Material delays or shortages Concealed damage requiring approval Changes to the original scope of work Other circumstances approved by Wagoner Roofing Reliable attendance, consistent progress, and timely completion are required. Failure to report to an active jobsite as scheduled without prior communication is not acceptable. Travel Requirements Wagoner Roofing completes projects throughout the state of Iowa. The subcontractor must be willing and able to travel to jobsites across the state as needed.
