Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Glass Installer specializing in commercial glass and to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of glass products in commercial settings, ensuring safety, precision, and quality at every step. Your expertise will help transform architectural visions into reality by expertly handling glass and related materials on construction sites. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from storefronts to interior partitions, contributing to the aesthetic and functional excellence of commercial spaces. Responsibilities Measure, cut, and install various types of glass including storefronts, windows, doors, and interior partitions using hand tools and power tools. Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately execute installation plans. Fabricate glass components as needed, ensuring precise dimensions and quality standards are met. Use construction estimating skills to assist in project planning and material procurement. Perform caulking, sealing, and trim carpentry to ensure weatherproofing and finish quality. Handle heavy lifting safely when transporting and installing large or fragile glass panels. Complete fixture installation such as mirrors, glass showcases, or custom glass features in commercial environments. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols on construction sites. Collaborate with project managers, carpenters, fabricators, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution. Troubleshoot issues related to metal stud framing, door hanging, or cabinetry that impact glass installation. Qualifications Proven experience with construction site work involving glass installation or related trades such as carpentry or remodeling. Skilled in using hand tools (e.g., chisels, screwdrivers), power tools (e.g., drills, saws), and fabrication equipment. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings relevant to glass projects. Familiarity with construction estimating processes for material needs and project timelines. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during installation tasks. Experience with caulking, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, fixture installation, and remodeling projects is highly desirable. Knowledge of safety standards related to working at heights and handling fragile materials. Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting on-site challenges.
