Come Grow With Us. The Opportunity Made in the Shade is looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined Part-Time Window Treatment Installer to join our growing local team. We provide custom window treatments for homes and businesses throughout the Springfield area, and our installer plays a major role in the customer's final experience with our company. This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in doing things correctly, enjoys working with tools, can solve problems in the field, and is comfortable working directly with customers in their homes. Previous window treatment installation experience is a plus, but we are also interested in candidates with strong construction, finish carpentry, handyman, cabinet, trim, or similar installation experience. What You'll Do Install roller shades, motorized shades, blinds, shutters, drapery, and other custom window treatments. Inspect products and job materials before leaving for each installation. Load the company vehicle with the products, tools, hardware, paperwork, and materials needed for the day's jobs. Confirm the installation plan with the customer upon arrival and communicate professionally throughout the job. Take accurate measurements when needed for service, replacement, or follow-up work. Troubleshoot installation issues and find practical solutions in the field. Perform adjustments, repairs, and service work on window treatments. Take before-and-after photos and properly document completed or incomplete work. Demonstrate operation and basic care of the customer's new window treatments, including motorized products. Keep the customer's home or business protected and leave the work area cleaner than you found it. Maintain tools, equipment, and the company installation vehicle in a clean and safe condition. Communicate promptly with the office regarding delays, product issues, service needs, or additional materials required. What We're Looking For Strong mechanical ability and confidence using common hand and power tools. Attention to detail - accurate, level, clean installations matter. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to think through unexpected installation conditions. Professional appearance, attitude, and communication skills. Comfort working inside customers' homes and providing excellent customer service. Dependable, organized, punctual, and able to manage a daily workload. Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and work from ladders. Valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable for company vehicle use. Previous window treatment installation experience is preferred but not necessarily required for the right mechanically skilled candidate. Especially Valuable Experience Experience installing window treatments is ideal. We would also like to hear from candidates with experience in finish carpentry, cabinets, trim, residential remodeling, low-voltage/motorized products, handyman work, or other detail-oriented residential installation trades.
