Job Title :
Sales & Design Consultant Education :
​High school diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred. Sales and design experience preferred.
Full-time :
​40+ hours per week. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday 10-5:30pm
Status :
​On-the-job training paid on an hourly basis (Non-Exempt Classification) during training period. Commission only once training is complete. Reports to :​

​Implement Proven Sales Process ​Set & Meet Sales Goals ​Client Lead Management and Follow Up ​​Networking & Lead Generation ​Customer Service Post-Sale Window Treatment Installs Professional Retails Sales Person selling Hunter Douglas Custom Window coverings to homeowners and commercial businesses. You'll work in our Corning showroom eventually visiting clients homes if they wish to assist them with their window coverings purchase. There are no late evenings or long weekend days. You should enjoy selling and be self-driven and self-managed to achieve sales goals Company Description Stevens Paint and Blinds helps create beautiful, custom window treatments for home and business. Stevens Paint and Blinds in Vestal East is our second location as we expand from Corning NY. We are growing and will continue to grow in our future. This offers you a chance to grow with us. This is a retail sales position in our Corning showroom working 40 hours a week. Our team enjoys working in our relaxed yet busy showroom where there is always something to do and a new project to work on. Personal Attributes
    Sales Experience:
    Three years of successful sales experience focused on residential environments. Uses appropriate and creative tools to help customers visualize products, colors, fabrics or final projects.
      Resilience:
      Maintains a positive attitude and personal effectiveness and as a result has established a progressive track record of customer focused designs.
        Tech Savvy:
        Comfortable with technology, willing to learn and work with new platforms
          Collaborative:
          Works well with others, takes time to help customers. Willingness to work with all internal partners for project success.

          Achieving Results :
          Educate clients about Hunter Douglas window fashions and custom fabrication options Recommend products that meet our clients' needs. Participate in marketing and training programs and utilize Custom Blinds & Design's systems and technology. Effectively demonstrate samples and products to clients in the Gallery and at shop at home appointments. Provide a complimentary in-home consultation guiding clients through fabrics and samples and offering design expertise when desired. Take your shoes off at the client's door when safety allows. Provide a guaranteed quote before you leave the client's first appointment, in most cases. Obtain a 50% deposit before placing an order. Provide a free measure and installation of blinds and/or shutters. Provide the client with total understanding of any purchase
          • no surprises.
          Provide continued communication with the Installer and Operations team until the completion of the project. The Sales & Design Consultant is responsible for overseeing all mis-measures, defective products/product re-order and the communication with the client. Daily maintenance of all pending sales to ensure up-to-date information. Greet, screen and direct all clients as they enter the store and help to meet their needs while performing floor duty. Listen attentively to client concerns and refer them to the appropriate team member, as needed. Write "Follow-Up Notes" to clients visiting the store and write "Thank You" notes to purchasing customers or make sure custom post cards are sent. Provide the client with great quality, at a great price, in an efficient manner. Return phone calls within SAME business day.
          Customer service post-sale:
          stay in it with the client and Operations team until the client is completely satisfied. Maintain a positive, professional attitude. These are essential tasks & duties but not limited to. Responsibilities
          • Meets, greets and compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from ad inquiries, trade shows, direct mail responses, aged leads, business directories, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
          • Handles walk-in customers and makes outbound lead follow-up calls to potential and existing customers by telephone and e-mail to qualify leads and sell products and services.
          • Handles inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales.
          • Overcomes technical and business objections of prospective customers.
          • Provides product demos to qualified customers on request.
          • Emphasizes salable features, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained.
          • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
          • Coordinates customer training.
          • Builds and maintains customer relationships.
          • Window Treatment installs
          • Writes orders in compliance with company policies and procedures, and ensures the customer understands and agrees with order specifications at the closing.
          • Assist customer with in-house financing arrangements when appropriate.
          • Investigates and resolves customer problems.
          • Handles Hunter Douglas activities including but not limited to monitoring leads, coordinating training, updating sample and fabric books, RGA/Repairs, design consulting and handling retail and service installs.
          • Travels to and attends trade shows as required.
