Job Description
Job Overview Woodmere Glass, The South Shore of Long Island's Premier Glass company serving homeowners, businesses, decorators, and contractors for over 80 years is now under new management. We are looking for an experienced Glazing Mechanic to join our team in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in glass fabrication as well as various construction techniques and management skills to oversee projects from start to finish. This role requires a hands-on approach, ensuring that all work meets quality standards while adhering to timelines and safety regulations. Duties
- Coordinate daily activities of the shop ensuring efficient workflow.
- Cut, polish, and shape glass for table tops and glass shelving/mirrors for walls/closets.
- Fabricate double insulated windows/doors, and install when necessary.
- Assist other glaziers/helpers with glass installation.
- Perform glazing tasks in the shop and prepare glass/mirrors for installation.
- Provide estimates to customers as required for various jobs.
- Maintain a safe working environment by following safety protocols.
- Train and mentor team members on best practices and new techniques in glazing.
- Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure project success. Requirements
- Proven experience in caulking, glass/mirror installation, construction estimating, assembly, and construction of glass components.
- Ability to work on a ladder if necessary.
- Able to lift 70lbs or, more with assistance.
- Strong leadership skills and/or ability to make common sense decisions.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to install glass railings and frame-less showers.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
- A valid driver's license is required for site visits.
- Must have your own tools for field work.

- English speaking required for interactions with customers
