In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing glass, windows, doors, and related fixtures across various commercial and residential projects. Your expertise will ensure that each installation meets quality standards while adhering to safety protocols. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that enhance building aesthetics and functionality, all while contributing to a collaborative and energetic work environment. Duties Measure and interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately install glass, windows, doors, and fixtures. Handle glass materials safely, including cutting, fabricating, and installing with precision using hand tools and power tools. Install window units, door frames, trim carpentry elements, and other related fixtures in accordance with specifications. Perform heavy lifting of glass panels and other materials while maintaining safety standards. Conduct quality control measurements to ensure proper fit, finish, and alignment of installed components. Utilize construction estimating skills for material needs and project timelines; interpret blueprints for seamless execution. Apply caulking, sealing, and finishing techniques to ensure weatherproofing and aesthetic appeal on all installations. Assist with remodeling projects by fabricating custom glass solutions or modifying existing structures as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work site by handling glass materials carefully and disposing of waste responsibly. Collaborate with team members to interpret technical drawings accurately and execute installation plans efficiently. Skills Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics, and interpreting technical drawings for precise installation work. Strong knowledge of construction estimating processes and material handling techniques specific to glass materials. Skilled in using hand tools (e.g., chisels, screwdrivers), power tools (e.g., drills, saws), and fabrication equipment for cutting and shaping glass or framing components. Experience with window installation, door hanging, fixture installation, cabinet assembly, metal stud framing, and trim carpentry. Ability to perform dimensional measurements accurately for quality control purposes during installation. Familiarity with construction site safety protocols including heavy lifting procedures; experience working at heights is a plus. Handyman experience or background in remodeling enhances versatility on diverse projects. Knowledge of caulking techniques for weatherproofing; experience with construction painting is beneficial. Ability to read construction plans thoroughly and follow schematics precisely for efficient project completion.
