Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Glazier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing glass in various structures, including windows, doors, and storefronts. This role requires a strong understanding of construction techniques and the ability to work effectively on construction sites. The Glazier will collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure high-quality installations and repairs while adhering to safety standards. Duties Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine specifications for glass installation. Measure and cut glass to required sizes using appropriate tools. Install glass panels in frames, doors, and windows, ensuring proper alignment and secure fitting. Perform repairs on existing glass installations, including replacing broken or damaged glass. Collaborate with other construction professionals on-site to coordinate tasks and ensure project timelines are met. Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during installation processes. Assist with fixture installation as needed, ensuring all components are assembled correctly. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols. Skills Proficient in blueprint reading to understand project specifications. Experience in construction site environments with knowledge of safety practices. Strong skills in trim carpentry for precise finishing work around glass installations. Ability to handle heavy lifting associated with transporting and installing large glass panels. Familiarity with drywall installation techniques as they may relate to glazing projects. Competence in using hand tools effectively for various tasks related to glazing. Experience as a maintenance person is a plus, providing versatility in handling multiple repair tasks.
