Job Description
About the Role JT Thorpe is seeking an experienced Heat Trace Coordinator for the Homer City Redevelopment Project. This full-time hourly position reports directly to the Project Manager and focuses on the planning, coordination, installation support, documentation, and turnover of heat trace systems on the pipe rack modules. This is an immediate hire opportunity on a multi-year project, with strong potential for continued employment with JT Thorpe beyond the current scope. Key Responsibilities Coordinate heat trace installation activities with insulation crews on pipe rack modules to maintain schedule and avoid rework. Track and manage heat trace materials including self-regulating (SR) cable, mineral insulated (MI) cable, power kits, terminations, and related components. Oversee and document megger testing (on-reel, post-install, and post-insulation) and maintain accurate quality records. Develop and maintain look-ahead schedules for heat trace work aligned with pipe rack phasing. Support quality control and turnover package preparation for heat-traced systems. Identify and communicate schedule or material risks early to the Project Manager. Ensure work is performed in accordance with project specifications, JT Thorpe standards, and site safety requirements. Requirements Proven experience with both self-regulating (SR) and mineral insulated (MI) heat trace systems (required). Strong understanding of heat trace installation sequencing relative to industrial insulation work. Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and installation details. Solid organizational and documentation skills. Ability to work full-time on-site in Homer City, PA. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Commitment to safety and quality standards. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience on large industrial or power generation projects. Experience coordinating multi-craft interfaces (heat trace / insulation / piping). Familiarity with megger testing procedures and turnover documentation.
