In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining insulation systems on ships to ensure optimal thermal regulation, soundproofing, and energy efficiency. Your expertise will contribute to the safety, comfort, and operational efficiency of our vessels. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where craftsmanship and attention to detail are highly valued. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in construction and insulation installation, along with a proactive approach to safety and teamwork. Duties Install insulation materials on various ship components according to technical drawings and schematics Follow blueprint specifications meticulously to ensure precise insulation placement Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during installation processes Climb ladders, scaffolding, and ship structures safely to access work areas at different heights Interpret technical drawings and schematics for proper insulation fitting and fabrication Adhere strictly to safety protocols related to working at heights, power tool operation, and maritime environments Conduct inspections of installed insulation for quality assurance and compliance with standards Communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding project progress and technical requirements Assist in fabricating custom insulation pieces as needed using appropriate materials and techniques Maintain a clean work environment by properly storing tools and disposing of waste materials Requirements Proven experience in construction estimating, insulation installation, or related trades within maritime or industrial settings Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately Mechanical knowledge combined with experience using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment Strong climbing skills with the ability to safely use ladders and scaffolding for extended periods Knowledge of building insulation installation techniques including caulking, trim carpentry, stucco, metal stud framing, HVAC systems, roofing, masonry, and concrete finishing is preferred Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and blueprint interpretation Familiarity with safety protocols related to construction site work, power tool safety, working at heights, and maritime environments Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration Construction site experience with an emphasis on safety adherence in dynamic environments Join us as a Shipboard Insulator where your craftsmanship will directly impact the safety and comfort of our vessels.
