Steel Cutter Pay:

$20.00 per hour We are seeking an experienced Torch Burner / Steel Cutter to join a construction company in the Birmingham area. This position is responsible for cutting and preparing structural steel and other metal materials using industrial cutting equipment. Responsibilities Operate oxy-fuel cutting torches to cut steel and other metal materials Cut structural steel, beams, pipes, plates, and other materials as needed Measure and mark materials before cutting Operate grinders and other hand and power tools Assist with steel removal and construction-related projects Maintain a clean and safe work area Inspect and properly maintain cutting equipment Follow all company and job-site safety procedures Perform other general labor duties as assigned Qualifications Previous experience using a cutting torch required Experience cutting structural steel or heavy metal preferred Construction, demolition, fabrication, or industrial experience preferred Ability to read a tape measure accurately Familiarity with oxy-acetylene torch equipment Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding work Strong attention to safety
