Pascagoula Job Only:
Up to $180/day (for qualified candidates living 75+ miles away) Typical schedules: 4x10s (Monday-Thursday) Monday-Friday with overtime available 40-60+ hours per week Temp-to-perm and long-term roles available Key Responsibilities Lay out, fit, and assemble structural steel components (plates, frames, bulkheads, beams, etc.) Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols Measure, mark, and align materials using hand tools and layout equipment Perform tack welding as needed to secure components Operate tools such as grinders, torches, come-a-longs, jacks, and measuring devices Ensure proper fit-up, alignment, and dimensional accuracy Install structural components including brackets, clips, doors, and hatches Maintain a safe and organized work environment Requirements Minimum 3 years of ship fitting or structural fitting experience Ability to read blueprints and perform accurate layout work Basic welding ability (tack welding required) Strong math skills (measurements, dimensions, material calculations) Ability to pass skills testing (written and/or practical) Must pass drug screen (urine), physical (as required), and background check (as required) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications Shipyard experience (highly preferred) Experience fitting steel and/or aluminum structures Familiarity with OSHA safety standards Ability to identify and troubleshoot fit-up issues Work Environment Shipyard and fabrication shop settings Work may involve: Confined spaces Heights up to 15 feet Physically demanding tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs) Exposure to industrial and outdoor conditions Additional Details Mix of long-term shipyard projects and 90-day temp-to-perm opportunities Some roles require own basic tools Opportunities for growth and skill development Apply today to join a team building and assembling critical marine and structural components!
