Weld Fabricator

Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Weld Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings. Your expertise will ensure the production of high-quality metal structures and parts that meet industry standards. Duties Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine specifications and dimensions. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math to ensure precise cuts and welds. Operate various welding techniques including FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal and other metal materials using plasma cutters, power tools, and machining equipment. Set up and operate rigging equipment for lifting heavy components safely on construction sites or within fabrication shops. Perform pipe threading, soldering, and assembly tasks as required for complex fabrication projects. Adhere strictly to safety protocols while working with heavy machinery, power tools, and hazardous materials in construction or manufacturing environments. Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections conducted, and quality checks completed throughout the fabrication process. Skills Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols. Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and interpreting mechanical blueprints accurately. Skilled in various welding techniques including FCAW, MIG, TIG, SMAW, with a solid understanding of AWS standards. Experience operating rigging equipment, forklifts, machining tools, and measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers. Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication shop processes involving sheet metal fabrication, pipe threading, plasma cutting, and assembly. Ability to perform shop math accurately for measurements and calculations essential for precise fabrication work. Familiarity with ASME codes & standards relevant to metal fabrication and manufacturing processes. Strong hand tool skills combined with experience using power tools safely in a manufacturing or construction setting. Knowledge of safety regulations related to construction sites and manufacturing environments; committed to maintaining a safe workspace at all times.
